RTKL won the competition to design IFDS's new Basildon Headquarters. They had chosen an iconic Basildon building to occupy and wanted a design to reflect the central atrium and the open plan nature of the space.

The atrium was utilised to allow for common and flexible space with meeting rooms and open breakout whilst each of the four 'office areas' where given over to workstations. Back office functions such as the letter opening department were tucked in, in appropriate spaces.

I worked as a designer near the end of the design phase and put together the new and reused furniture packages for client development, sign off and tender. I also worked on the design of the cafe and other areas where late changes were required.
